Obituary of William Van Der Veer
Troy, NY-Mr. William "Bill" Van Der Veer, age 64, currently of Troy passed away at his home on May 10, 2016.
He was born on January 7, 1952 in Amsterdam, son of the late Leland and Geraldine (Davis) Van Der Veer and educated in local schools. He was last employed with the Norampac Company in Schenectady.
Survivors include his beloved daughter, Rita Van Der Veer of Broadalbin; a brother, Danny Van Der Veer of Ft. Hunter; a niece, Katlyn; nephew, Sean and by his former wife and friend, Paula Van Der Veer.
Mr. Van Der Veer loved being involved with his fellow fire fighters at the Town of Glen Fire Department and even served as past fire chief, which he was extremely proud of. He was a licensed EMT with the state of New York. He loved the outdoors and enjoyed snowmobiling, hunting and fishing. He also enjoyed NASCAR in his leisure time and any sort of racing. Bill will be sadly missed by all those fortunate enough to have known him.
There will be no public services. Cremation arrangements are in the caring guidance of Jackson and Betz Funeral Home, 15 Main St., Fultonville, NY 12072.
