Obituary of Candace V. Sandford
Candace V. Sandford, LPN, age 77 years of Gloversville passed away 1/29/18 with her loving family by her side. She was born in Stratford, CT on February 5, 1940 and is the daughter of the late Charles E. and Elizabeth L. (Stott) Perley.
She is survived by three sons James P. (Marcia) Sandford of Gloversville, Thomas H. (Darla) Sandford of Ft Plain, and Joseph E. (Laura "Caro") Sandford of Eagle Pass, Texas. A daughter Ann M. (Glenn) Snyder of Tribes Hill. A brother Charles E. "Skip" Barbara Perley of Henderson, Nevada, and a sister Melissa Whitaker of South Carolina, a sister in law Francine Perley Moran. Seven grandchildren whom she adored Megan, Nathanael, Cory, Kimberely, Kayla, Koren, and Troy. Four greatgrandchildren whom she also adored Meadow, Michael, Jason, and Madison. Also the Sandford family would also like to include there loving extended Fonda family Sandford's.
Besides her Parents she is also predeceased by her daughter Margaret H. Sandford who passed away in 1979, and also by a brother Daniel Perley.
During her lifetime Candace was born and raised in Stratford and Huntington Connecticut , She graduated from Stratford High School. Candace then moved to Gloversville in 1959, and she started working for the Montgomery County Infirmary, and the FFCS while going to college. After receiving her degree in nursing Candace went on to working at St. Mary's Hospital as a Registered Nurse until retirement in 2001. She was a member of the Glen Mohawk Seniors, member of F.A.V.A.C. , and a member of the Mohawk Valley Chorus. She was also a communicant of St. Cecilia Roman Catholic Church in Fonda.
Relatives and Friends are invited to call at the Jackson & Betz Family Funeral Home 15 Main Street, Fultonville, NY 12072 on Thursday February 8, 2018 from 4 to 7 pm. A memorial service will take place at the Funeral Home on Friday February 9, 2018 at 11 am with Fr. Chris Welch pastor of St. Cecilia Roman Catholic Church will Officiate.
On behalf of the Sandford family they would like to thank the staff for there loving care of Candace both at the St. Johnsville Nursing Home, and also at the Mountain Valley Hospice.
