Obituary of Miss Elizabeth C. Frederick
Elizabeth "Bettie" C. Frederick, 99, of Amsterdam passed away peacefully on Friday, July 15, 2016 at Ellis Hospital surrounded by her loving family.
Born May 20, 1917 in Broadalbin, she was the daughter of the late Raymond and Edna Cole Frederick.
Elizabeth attended SUNY Oneonta and Albany State and was a member of Delta Kappa Gamma. She worked as an elementary school teacher with Broadalbin Central Schools for over 40 years. She began her teaching career in a one room schoolhouse in Perth. Elizabeth enjoyed gardening and working outdoors. She was a founding member of Perth Bible Church where she taught Sunday school and volunteered at the Christian Academy for many years. Elizabeth took great pride in her home, garden, friendships and was fortunate to remain active and independent well into her nineties.
Survivors include her brother Richard Frederick (Judy) of Broadalbin; Sister Lillian Frederick of Perth and sister-in-law Marion Frederick of Perth. Elizabeth was a beloved Aunt to numerous nieces and nephews and especially dear to Kelly Frederick Brosch (Eric) and Tina Frederick Healy (John). She is predeceased by her brothers Joseph, Charles, Robert and Lewis Frederick and sister Gladys "Jean" Frederick.
A service to celebrate Elizabeth's life will be held on Wednesday, July 20, 2016 12 P.M. at Jeffords & Stewart Funeral Home, 85 W. Main Street, Broadalbin with Pastors from the Perth Bible Church officiating. Burial will follow at Broadalbin Mayfield Rural Cemetery, Broadalbin. A calling hour to which relatives and friends are invited to attend will take place from 11 A.M. until time of service on Wednesday at the funeral home.
In lieu of flowers memorial donations can be made in Elizabeth's memory to the Perth Bible Church General Fund, 1863 County Hwy 107, Amsterdam, NY 12010.
