When BJ called me the other morning saying it was bad news, I just knew. Bob and I go way back to Brockport and have been friends ever since our college days. It shouldn't have happened this way, you were supposed to enjoy those retirement years. I will miss you, Hughes-that is the way you always signed your Christmas cards. My thoughts are with your Mom and I will think of you often.

Hughes, Que Pasa? Jeff emailed me and I was as shocked as everyone else about the news. We all had some good times at B'port and afterwards. I don't know anyone else that used the word "Pig" in their vocabulary more than you that wasn't in Animal House. I'll miss you and I know that everyone else will miss you also. God Bless.

I knew Bob from the Tax department a few years back, when my office and his worked on similar projects. He always called it as he saw it and was always good for a laugh.
I don't know what to say except that I'm very sorry this has happened and that you have my deepest sympathy.

I am yet another who was not only shocked, but deeply saddened by the news of Mr. Hughes' passing. I have been waiting on him for four years at the Raindancer where I not only enjoyed waiting on him, but looked forward to it. He will not only be greatly missed but remembered for the generous and thoughtful man that he was.

I am deeply saddened by the news of Bob's passing. I used to wait on him at the Raindancer Restaurant. He was one of my very favorite customers. He joked with me because he was retiring when I was just starting my career with New York State. He was truly a wonderful person.
