Obituary of Arthur E. Temple
Mr. Arthur E. Temple, age 85, of Gloversville, died Sunday at the home of his daughter. A longtime area resident, Mr. Temple was born August 30, 1919, in Montclair, New Jersey, the son of Albert and Anna McCloskey Temple. Mr. Temple was a veteran of World War II, serving alongside three of his brothers. After, he worked as a Testing Technician for AT&T for 42 years before retiring. He was a very active member of the Fulmont Community Church, acting as a greeter, deacon, and elder. He was known for his deep faith in God. He was predeceased by his wife Verna, who died in 1998. He is survived by his children Gwen Eschler of Gloversville, and Gary Temple of Auburn, and a brother Robert Temple of Montclair, New Jersey. He is also survived by five grandchildren, Erica Eschler and Aaron Eschler of Gloversville, and Gary Temple Jr., Erica Johns and Cassie Temple of Auburn, and several nieces and nephews. The family will receive friends from 4 to 6 p.m. Tuesday at the Walrath & Stewart Funeral Home, 51 Fremont St., Gloversville, where a memorial service will follow at 6 p.m. The Rev. John Selert will officiate. Interment at Mayfield Cemetery will be private.
