Every one of us knew him in a different way, some of us since he first moved here, others only in school.
For me it was really thru my husband Joel. Through this friendship we had with Bill we all came to know each other. I thank him for that. Sharing our memories of him with each other has made us come together. He also gave us one more gift, the friendship of his beautiful, wonderful, and loving wife Susan.
Thank you Bill,
We miss you always,
Joel, Em, and boys

I'm not sure what to say. Saying, I'm sorry and he will be missed doesn't seem like enough when you've lost someone that was such a big part of your life growing up. Everybody loved Billy. His smile was contagious and I honestly don't remember him ever having a bad day. I remember how protective he was of all of us on the swim team. We were kind of an electic group and yet we all had a very close bond. Billy would go out of his way to help any of us that felt he/she had been wronged or disappointed in someway and try to make it right again. I will never look back and think of all the memories I have growing up and not see Billy's beautiful smiling face looking back. How blessed we all are having had Billy in our lives. He will be forever remembered.

Bill Wheeler is one special person. People around him couldn't help but smile every time they saw him. 'Wheels' had so many gifts- whether it was bringing happiness into a dismal day, levity to a tense situation, or simply just making people laugh. His positive attitude constantly influenced everyone around him, and despite facing life's greatest adversity, he never complained, always smiled, and constantly did for others. I had the pleasure of working with Bill at ABNH in sales. He made going to work so much fun for all of us. He will be greatly missed, but always remembered. May God bless his angel, Sue and the Wheeler family, whose strength stands as an example for us all. Our thoughts and prayers are with you during this difficult time.

I will always remember his smiling face and hear his laughter every time I think of Bill. Through all the years we worked together at ABNH, I saw him grow from a young fun-loving guy to a courageous man who has been an example to us all. We all loved Bill and will continue to keep him close in our hearts and in our prayers. May all the support and love of his friends and family be a testament to the special place he occupied in our lives, and may this simple note bring a bit of comfort to Susan, who is deserving of our respect and thanks for so lovingly caring for our friend with tenderness and dignity. Please know that you will always be in our thoughts.

I have worked with Bill for many years at ABNH. I always looked forward to his phone calls and laughter. When I moved to NY and worked out of Elmsford we had many nice dinners together. Ashley really enjoyed his company along with Susan, Cloe and Alex.
Bill has touched our life in so many ways. He will never be forgotten. Our deepest sympathy goes to all his family.

At the rising of the sun and at its going down,
We remember them.
At the blowing of the wind and in the chill of Winter, We remember them.
At the opening of buds and in the rebirth of Spring,
We remember them.
At the blueness of the skies and in the warmth of Summer,
We remember them.
At the rustling of leaves and the beauty of Autumn,
We remember them.
At the beginning of the year and when it ends,
We remember them.
As long as we live, they too will live;
for they are now a part of us, as we remember them.
When we are weary and in need of strength,
We remember them.
When we are lost and sick at heart,
We remember them.
When we have joys we yearn to share,
We remember them.
When we have decisions that are difficult to make,
We remember them
When we have achievements that are based on theirs,
We remember them.
Sorry to hear of your loss; I was a graduate of Bill's class in 1984. May GOD be with you. Bob Spraker

To Bill's family, wife and many friends it is difficult to put into words the loss of such a great person who was genuine in everything he did. We shared many great times together making plays on the football field at Canisus and just as many bellied up to the bar. I have soo many fond memories
of 'wheels' that I remember some things as if it happened only yesterday. When I think back about college Bill is one of the first people I think of because he was a friend to everyone and he was always there when you needed some advice. My entire family knew Bill and we are all saddened by the loss. With all our love we will miss you. I know that your in a better place now but I am saddened by the fact that I will never see you again and that you did not get a chance to check in on my boys as they grow up, I know you would have gotten a kick out of that! Our thoughts and prayers are with you and your family as they try to face life without your special presence. Love from my dad, Dave Doyle, my brothers Jeff & Chris and my wife Paula who always enjoyed your company. I'll be seeing you on the other side...

Dear Susan and Family,
I worked with Bill and remember when he first came in 1990 to work at American Bank Note Holographics, Inc. in Elmsford, N.Y. In all these years, I cannot ever remember Bill passing up an opportunity to enjoy life's gifts. He always knew that he was blessed with a loving and supportive family. We, at ABNH, always looked forward to the holiday cookies Mrs. Wheeler would bake for us. Bill always had an upbeat attitude of gratitude and it gave him great pleasure to share his gifts with those around him. I will miss him. In your moments of grief, please take comfort in knowing that his goodness touched my life, as well as many others.
With deepest sympathy,
Valerie Jackson

Dear Family and Friends of Bill,
I was Bill's roomate in #412 Bosch Hall during our freshman year at Canisius College. We shared many memories. We were also teammates on the Golden Griffin football team. I was a wide receiver who dreaded catching a pass across the middle where Bill commanded the middle linebacker position. His intensity was second to none and his affable and spirited personality helped everyone to enjoy life. After Bill moved downstate and I went to Iowa for graduate school we never crossed paths again. I wish you all strength as you cope with a good man who has passed before his time. I cherish discovering college with Bill as a roomate, teammate and friend. Best Wishes to you all, Sean Tobin.

Dear Wheeler Family,
My memories of Billy are many: I think of his dimples and beautiful smile, his willingness to laugh at anything and everything, working- out in the mornings during swim season---even over holidays when most kids our age were asleep, how he'd provoke Mr. McGrath so he'd sqirt us with the hose for goofing off and not getting in the pool, how he'd hop seats on the bus at away meets so he could spend a little time with everyone. I loved him...we all loved him. God Bless you all.
