I am most fortunate to be able to say that I have had many shared memories with John.
A true friend who never asked for much but offered so much in return. Sharing, caring ,witty and warm --- only to mention a few of his attributes. I am truly honored to be his friend.

Barbara, Phillip and the Calandra Family,
I was shocked and sad to read of John's passing. My thoughts and prayers are with you.
I met John or "JC" as we called him while at Alfred. We then went on to school at RIT and became neighbors and later roomates. He was a true friend to all who were fortunate to know him.
I will always remember Sunday nights when he would come back from a visit home to see his family. John would come in the door with a care package from home and say "I have the cookies". He would then open up the paperbag and begin to share them.
John will always be in our hearts and memories.

To Barb, Phillip and the rest of the Calandra family: You are foremost in our hearts and minds as you bury your beloved husband, father, son, nephew, and cousin. We were so shocked to learn of John's passing, and offer our friendship and support in any way you may need it in the coming days and weeks. Though we hadn't seen much of him lately, we will never forget John's great personality and winning ways. What an all-around nice guy and neighbor he was--and he will always remain so in our memories. We've enjoyed reading about him in this guestbook, and learning more about his life "before Pittsford." He will surely be missed, and we offer our sympathy and any help we may provide to you.
With loving thoughts,
The Rehberg Family

We were shocked and sadded to hear of John's passing. I was John's room-mate at Alfred college for a semester in 1976, and my wife also lived in our dorm and knew him well. He was certainly a very thoughful, caring individual. A true gentleman. He was well liked there, and made many friends.
We spent much time together, and he always liked his music. I remember the time he had given hundreds of dollars to a kid from Long Island to buy him a stereo sytem over the X-mas break, and then the kid never returned to school after the break. We made a long "road trip" from Alfred to the kid's house in Long Island to retrieve John's stereo. We then decided to see a little of NYC, and we went to the top of the Empire State Building before we returned to school.
We are sorry to hear of your loss, and John will remain in our memories for all the great times we had together.

I think I worked with John @ A & P in Gloversville on Bleeker Square-1973...he was such a nice guy. I never knew what he did or where he went after A&P closed...I've often thought of him when remembering those days from HIGH-SCHOOL and immediatly following. I was so shocked to read John's obituary in the paper.....My prayers and sympathy to John's Family and Friends !
