Obituary of Pietro Russo

Pietro ?Peter? Russo, 53, of Bartlett Street, passed away Sunday morning at St. Mary?s Hospital with his family at his side. Born in Vitualzio, Province of Caserta, Italy on July 18, 1953, the son of the late Pasquale and Assunta Boccia Russo, he was educated in Italy and came to Amsterdam on November 3, 1972. Peter was employed in the warehouse service industry for many years, lastly by the Saratoga Warehouse Association. He was a communicant of St. Stanislaus? Roman Catholic Church where on June 21, 1975 he married the former Lynette Sajta. Peter was a member of the Columbian Social Club and, as an avid bocce player, a member of the Port Jackson Bocce Team. His loving family includes his wife, Lynette; his children, Peter and his fiancé Christine Baia of Amsterdam and Natalie Russo of Albany; his brothers, Andrea Russo Jeanenne, of Schenectady and Guisseppe Russo and his wife Maria of Vitualzio, Italy; sisters, Emelia and her husband Umberto DiChiara of Switzerland, Filomena and her husband Gino Figliomeni of Toronto, Canada and Michela and her husband Biagio Nasca of East Greenbush; a sister in law, Josephine Russo of Albany; his father and mother in law, John and Winifred Sajta of Amsterdam; as well as nieces and nephews. Funeral services are Friday at 8:30 am at the Betz, Rossi & Bellinger Family Funeral Home, 171 Guy Park Avenue, followed by the Funeral Mass, which will be offered at 9:30 am at St. Stanislaus? Church with Fr. David Mickiewicz, celebrant. Interment is in St. Stanislaus? Cemetery. Calling hours are Thursday from 4-7 pm at the funeral home where the Columbian Italian American Social Club will meet at 6:30 pm. Contributions may be made in Pete?s memory to St. Stanislaus?
