Diane, Don and families,
I was very sorry to hear of your Mom's death. I was away and unable to attend the wake but my memories are many of both your Mom and Dad. The garden is the biggest memory and it will always live on. My prayers are with you.

Mrs. Mongin, Sorry to hear of your Mother's passing. It is such a sad time in your life, as I have lost my Mother too. But if we believe, they are just resting and we will see them again when it is our time. Respectfully. Sandy Brouillette

Dear Don & Diane and your families:
I am saddened to learn of Gwen's passing. I so enjoyed getting together with her and our other cousins every summer.
Gwen made such beautiful sweaters for my children when they were babies. I have passed them on to my grandchildren. I remember one time that she knit a dress made with ribbons for someone. It was so beautiful. I also remember her in her WAC uniform; how good she was to Aunt CArrie; and how happy she was when you two were born.
Love & Blessings,
Your cousin, Dayle

As a youngster 18 years Gwen's junior, I recalled her walking up Florida Ave on her way to her home on Upper Daniels Street, from the train station, in her Army uniform. She taught the Sorette children in Sunday School and they all couldn't wait for Sunday to come.
At the Easter Sunday service two years ago, your mom remarked 89 was better than being 90 years old. She had gotten back in shape by using her bicycle and was still able to drive. How wonderful for her and you to have her healthy for so long.

I was sorry to read about your mothers passing.
Mrs. Whitney was my nursery teacher at First Reformed over 40 years ago. I haven't seen her since that time, however, she made a lasting impression on me.
I remember when I got to old for the nursery and had to advance to the next class. I didn't want to leave. I thought she was the nicest lady. On occasion, I think about those early days at First Reformed, and always remember her. Her kindness, and patience. I still remember her sand table, and teaching us to sing "Jesus Loves Me". She had to be patient to have a sand table with all these children under 4!
My husband is a Pastor and I am the Director of our Children's Ministry. I have expressed to our teachers that we want children to always remember church with fondness and to let them experience the love of Christ through us. No matter where their lives take them, we want their memories of church to remind them of Christ's love for them. When they think of church and of us, they will have to think of Christ, just like I do when I think of your mom.
With condolences,
J
