To Gary's Family,

My family and I want to express our deepest sympathy for your loss. I have always thought of you as family and considered Jeff to be lucky to have such great parents. Gary will be missed.
I know I?ll always cherish those days at the Ashe compound up at the lake; they are among my fondest memories growing up. Even when we got a little out of control, I?m not sure if Jeff has ever shared all the stories, I can?t remember ever seeing Gary get upset with us and he would always let Jeff take us back up I assume Jeff had permission for those hot summer days and great weekends.

It was almost 30 years ago I got my first taste of Ham Radio through your dad and years later I was pleased to have him as my instructor for my 1st and 2nd "ticket". I was saddened to learn of Gary's passing. Know you are in my thoughts and prayers.
As I read his obituary wonderful memories flooded my mind - friends on Broad Street, one-on-one football with him in my front yard, short wave radio, snowball fights across Broad Street and to be sure your wonderful parents. How good they were to me and my grandparents - special people indeed. I treasure the pictures you sent some time ago of the neighborhood picnics.
To you both I send my sympathy and love. Growing up as friends and neighbors with you is something I'll always cherish. We were not the wealthiest kids in town but we sure were happy and proud.

Dear Joyce and family,
When I came to Gloversville to teach HS electronics one of the first people I met was Gary, a friendly fellow working at Montano Electric. We became good friends and never lost the true spirit of friendship. He taught me to be a ham. I bought an old house in need of everything, in walked Gary with his toolbox. We took the GHS Radio Club on a weekend expedition VHF contest. We took a trip to NYC.to radio row and came back so broke all we could afford for lunch was two bunches of bananas. Time and distance separated us but did not break the bond. I grieve with you.
Rest in Peace my friend, I'll see you on the other side.

Aunt Joyce, Deborah, Jeff and Lissa,
Uncle Gary will be greatly missed but never forgotten. As my Godfather and Uncle he was a great influence on me when I was growing up. I remember going over to his house to work on electronic projects in the cellar. We would take apart circuit boards and build new electronic projects. I also remember the 4th of July holidays up at camp where me and Jeff would put on the fireworks display down at the dock. Uncle Gary was always there when I needed him even when I moved to CT and bought a house. He helped me repair my garage door openers by phone until I had them replaced. He will be in our thoughts and prayers.
