Obituary of Mary F. Smith
Mary F. Mullarkey Smith, 39, of Locust Ave, Amsterdam, died unexpectedly Monday June 25, 2007 at her home.
Born in Amsterdam, NY on December 15, 1967 a daughter of John D. and Florence Bryant Mullarkey. She was a lifelong area resident and attended local schools. She was a 1986 graduate of Galway Central School. She later attended FMCC in Johnstown, NY.
Mary was currently employed as a photo lab technician for Eckerd, now part of Rite Aid on Route 30 North in Amsterdam for the past 5 years. She also was previously employed at Wal-Mart in Amsterdam as the photo lab manager.
Mary was an avid stock car racing and NASCAR racing fan. She was the owner of the Smith Racing Team and raced at the Fonda & Glenridge Speedways and was a member of the New York Stock Car Racing Association. Mary was also the Gamache Racing Team Photographer at the Dodge City Speedway. She was a fan of Mark Martin, Carl Edwards and Matt Kenseth NASCAR racing teams.
Mary was an avid bowler and was an officer in many bowling leagues in Amsterdam over the years. She was currently the Secretary of the Wednesday Night Wildcats Bowling League at the Imperial Bowling Center. She was also a member of the Schenectady Dog Training Club. She loved her pets. She enjoyed Dogs, Cats and Horses.
She married Joseph E. Smith on June 3, 1995. In addition to her loving husband survivor?s include her parents, Florence Bryant Mullarkey and John D. Mullarkey of Amsterdam. Two dear sisters, Sueann Mullarkey of Amsterdam and Tara Mullarkey of Boston, MA. Several aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, in-laws, cousins and friends also survive. She is survived by her loving pet dogs, Wreckless and Midnight Sky and her cat Squirt. She was pre-deceased by her dog Sasha.
Funeral services will be held on Friday June 29th 2007 at 11:00A.M. at the Betz, Rossi & Bellinger Family Funeral Home, 171 Guy Park Ave, Amsterdam with the Rev. Cynthia Leonard presiding. Interment will be in St. Stanislaus Cemetery, Amsterdam. The family will receive relatives and friends on Thursday June 28, 2007 from 4:00P.M. to 8:00P.M. at the funeral home. Memorial contributions may be made to the Montgomery County S.P.C.A. State Highway 5S, Amsterdam, NY 12010.
