My Mom: A wonderful wife, mother, babci, friend, teacher and more! We will miss you dearly! I wish I had said "I love you" more and talked to you more and had lived closer all these years. I do take peace in knowing that I was there for the last few months and was able to speak with you a few times during that period. I am grateful for the time we had and will always cherish the life and love you gave to me and the rest of the family! It has been a month and it feels like a year...
Thank you everyone for sharing your lovely thoughts, kind words and prayers. Mom meant a lot to a lot of people, and it shows! She taught everywhere she went. Please keep all of those lessons close to your hearts!
Dad, Laura & Mike, Deidre & Tim, Alison & Bruce, Morgan, Reid, Stephen, Corey, Madison and Robert: I am so glad we are so close knit! My love to all of you!

To my Dad and my Sisters,
Mom will be greatly misssed by us all. She was the best person anyone of us could have known. As a mother she went above and beyond with everything she ever did for all of us. As a wife she loved you Dad more than words can say she always told meand she was a great partner for you.
The teacher part of her went on and on always instilling and teaching us all. It is all her teaching that has helped me become the woman and mother that I am. I will always be proud of her and will carry her in my heart and the hearts of my children forever. Morgan Reid and Stephen lover her very much as does Michael and will always remember her. I love all of you very much from the bottom of my heart. Love Laura

Dear Renee, Laura, Deidre and Allison,
I know this loss will be especially hard for you all. Your mom was a great person and she loved you all so much.
Remember that she will always be with you for the people we love we carry forever in our hearts. Stay strong and lean on each other for support. Here is a short poem I carry with me and read often since the loss of my mom, hope it brings some comfort to you.
When Tomorrow Starts Without Me
"As I know how much you love me,
As much as I love you,
And each time that you think of me,
I know you'll miss me too;
So, when tomorrow starts without me,
Don't think we're far apart,
For every time you think of me,
I'm right here, in your heart."
Love Ron and Audie DiCaprio

Dear Bob,
Ron and I were very sad to hear that Barbara has passed away. We knew her health was failing but you always hold on to a miracle when it's a person that has unselflishly given all her life to others that a miracle will be granted. When the word "WOMAN" was created it was for Barb. She did everything to perfection, from raising four beautiful daughters to touching the lives of so many children as a teacher including our daughter. She was truly a great great woman!!!She will be greatly missed by all who knew her.
Think of you
fondly,
Ron and Audie

There have been only two women who have impacted my life. One of whom was my mother, the other was Barbara Reidy. Barbara was quite possibly the only person I have ever known who actually practiced "unconditional love". She was generous and caring with everyone she came in contact with--and being the people-person she was, she came in contact with so many. Our relationship spans decades. I first encountered her in 1971 when I was a first year teacher at St. Stanislaus School and her daughters were students there. However, I came to know the real Barbara when, after many years, she came to teach at St. Stan's and she was my son's fifth grade teacher. Almost from the beginning we forged a relationship that was unique for me. She was mentor, big sister, and confidante for me all rolled into one special person. When my daughter was getting married, it was to Barbara I turned to help me put together a "Polish" wedding. It was Barbara who graciously agreed to be a surrogate "godmother" to preside at the entrance to the reception. And she did it the way she did everything--graciously and with panache! It's seems trite to say; but in Barbara's case, at least to me, the world will be a little less comforting now that she's left it, and heaven is looking a lot better!
