Obituary of Virginia F. Eschler
Mrs. Virginia F. Eschler, 82 of Johnstown, died Thursday at. Nathan Littauer Hospital. She was born April 30, 1925 in Keene, New Hampshire, daughter of the late Norman and Hazel Cushman Lund. Mrs. Eschler was educated in New Hampshire and Gloversville schools and employed as a private duty home health aide for many years.
A loyal animal lover and devoted bingo player, she was always most happy with her family, especially her grandchildren and great grandchildren. Mrs. Eschler was also a past member of the Degree of Pocahontas, one of the oldest fraternal organizations in America.
Virginia was first married to Riley A. Thompson Sr. who died in 1966, she was then married to Leo Eschler who died in 1989.
She is survived by her children: Barbara J. Sargalis of Johnstown, Deborah Kilmartin of Johnstown, Joyce Peters of Portsmouth Virginia, Denise L. Peets of Johnstown, Bonnie Garcia of San Antonio, Texas, Cheryl Thompson of Johnstown and Ronald Thompson of Gloversville. She is also survived by sixteen grandchildren and thirty-one great grandchildren; Mrs. Eschler was pre-deceased by two sons; Riley A. Thompson Jr. and John Thompson, a brother Ralph Lund, and two sisters; Arlene Cole and Norma Thompson.
There will be no calling hours. Urn burial will be private at the convenience of her family. Expressions of sympathy in her memory may be made to the American Cancer Society, 260 Osborne Rd. Loudonville N.Y. 12211.
