Obituary of James A. Macklin

James A. Macklin, 76, passed away Saturday, October 27, 2007 at Nathan Littauer Hospital. He was born February 19, 1931 to Nellie Tompkins and Walter Macklin in Nauvoo, Illinois. In 1952, James enlisted in the United States Marine Corps, where he achieved the rank of Corporal. He later moved to the Gloversville area. James was a machine operator for Coleco Industries. He was happiest working around the house. In addition to his loving wife, Therese Roy Macklin, whom he married in February of 1954, he is survived by a daughter: Joanne Getwright of Gloversville; two sons: Michael Macklin of Gloversville and Richard Macklin of Mayfield; two brothers: Jack Macklin Joanne of Arkansas, Bill Macklin Margaret of Missouri; two sisters: Alice Williams of Ft. Madison, Iowa and Marie Vaughn Ralph of Florida; ten grandchildren: 1st Sgt. Daniel Getwright Louann of Texas, Jeffrey Getwright of Johnstown, Eric Getwright Cheyenne of Gloversville, Sherity Vose of Gloversville, Jaime Carlo Eric of Schaticoke, Laurie LaPort Jason of Amsterdam, Jenny Macklin of Gloversville, Tyler Macklin of Gloversville, Lisa Macklin of Mayfield and Jason Macklin Cindy of Fonda; eleven great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. James was predeceased by a granddaughter, Allysa and a grandson, David. There will be no viewing or funeral services. Arrangements have been entrusted to the Walrath and Stewart Funeral Home, 51 Fremont Street, Gloversville.
