Obituary of Eduardo M. Politi
Eduardo ?Vive? M. Politi, 70, passed away Christmas morning at Ellis Hospital after a brief illness.
Born in San Jose, Cuba, on May 8, 1937, he was the son of the late John and Caridad Gomez Politi. His father was born in Italy and his mother in Cuba. Eddie moved to Amsterdam in 1955 from Cuba where he received his education. He was employed for many years at the General Electric Company in Schenectady as a painter and crane operator until he retired in 2002. In his youth, Eddie played baseball and was an avid fan of the sport.
He is survived by his wife, Lily Torres Belen Politi;
His children; Thomas Michelle Carrigan Politi of Clifton Park, Susan Duane Moore of Amsterdam, Lisa David Velazquez Politi of Amsterdam, Shane Jacob Politi of Amsterdam; a step son Jose Belen of Orlando, Fla.; brothers; Antonio Politi of New York City and Victor Politi of Broadalbin; sisters; Josephine Reyes of Puerto Rico and Maria Politi of Orlando, Fla.; granddaughters Crystal Mochrie and Brittany Moore; a step brother; Rolando Forte; aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins as well as his beloved canine friend Max.
Services are Saturday at 8:15 am at the Betz, Rossi & Bellinger Family Funeral Home, 171 Guy Park Avenue, followed by the Mass Of Christian Burial at 9:15 am at St. Michael The Archangel Church. Eddie?s uncle, Fr. Victor Polito will celebrate the mass. Interment is in St. Michael?s Cemetery. Calling hours are Friday from 5-8 pm at the funeral home. Contributions may be made in his name to the American Diabetes Association or the American Heart Association both in care of the funeral home office.
