Uncle Eddie.
I remember my summers at the house in Amsterdam when I was a baby, messing around with my siblings and my cousins Tommy and Lisa...and I remember calling out to you guys through the floor vents. And yes I do remember scratching your head. I will miss that, and I will miss you.
At your funeral, I was amazed to see just how many generations of Amsterdam, NY, from every race, background, and nationality, knew you and loved you and came out to pay their respects. You set an example for all of us to follow, both in your triumphs and your shortcomings. You're a part of our history now, and I hope we each manage to live up to it.
You were truly the mayor of Amsterdam, and I'm sure everyone's gonna miss you down at Stewart's. My parents miss you like crazy too.
