Obituary of Martha M. Buhrmaster

Mrs. Martha M. Buhrmaster, 92, formerly of Baum Road, St. Johnsville passed away Sunday, March 9, 2008 at the St. Johnsville Nursing Home. Born in Castle on the Hudson, NY on February 22, 1916 she was the daughter of the late Bradford and Maude Barney. Martha was educated in Scotia and was a graduate of Mildred Elley Business School. She worked for Buhrmaster Pharmacy in Ft. Plain, NY until her retirement. She was a life member of the Order of The Eastern Star and a member of the Fort Plain Reformed Church. She was preceded in death by her husband, Henry C. Buhrmaster; two brothers, Harlan and Melvin Barney and two daughter in laws, Lois Buhrmaster and Connie Buhrmaster. Survivors include her two sons, Henry "Chris" Buhrmaster and his wife Carol of St. Johnsville, NY and Norman Buhrmaster of Coral Gables, FL; five grandchildren, Scott Buhrmaster and his wife Laura, Todd Buhrmaster and his wife Tracie. Bethany Silfer and her husband Keene, Lisa Gundlach and her husband John and Emily Buhrmaster; three great grandchildren, Cameron, Forrest and Rie; and several nieces, nephews and cousins. A Celebration of Life place on Saturday, March 15, 2008 at 11 o'clock at the Fort Plain Reformed Church with the Rev. Nancy Ryan presiding. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions in her memory may be made to the American Cancer Society, 260 Osborne Road, Loudonville, NY 12211 or to the Fort Plain Reformed Church, 165 Canal Street, Fort Plain, NY 13339. Arrangements have been entrusted to the Lenz & Betz Funeral Home, 69 Otsego Street, Canajoharie, NY 13317.
