Obituary of Mary Ann Hallenbeck

Mrs. Mary Ann "Renee" Hallenbeck, age 77 of Gloversville, died on Saturday afternoon, March 29, 2008 at Nathan Littauer Hospital Emergency Room after she was suddenly stricken at her home. She was born on August 31, 1930 in Gloversville, the daughter of the late Lawrence and Carmella "Mamie" DeRocco Angelo. She was a 1948 graduate of Gloversville High School. She and her husband James owned and operated Donuts and More in Speculator for more than 30 years. Mary Ann's family was very important to her, and she enjoyed spending time with them. Mrs. Hallenbeck was a member of Saint Mary of Mount Carmel Church and its Women's Society. She was married on June 8, 1952 to James Hallenbeck who survives. Also surviving are two sons, Charles "Chuck" Hallenbeck Laura of Guilderland and Michael Hallenbeck of Benton Harbor, MI; a brother, Lawrence Angelo Linda of Turner, ME; an uncle, James DeRocco of Vero Beach, FL; several nieces, nephews and cousins. The family will receive relatives and friends from 4 to 7 p.m. Monday today at Walrath & Stewart Funeral Home, 51 Fremont St; Gloversville. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:00 a.m. Tuesday, April 1st St. Mary of Mt. Carmel Church, Gloversville, with the Very Rev. Donald Czelusniak officiating. Interment will take place in the spring at Mount Carmel Cemetery, Johnstown.
