Obituary of Shirley Cardoza

Mrs. Shirley Cardoza Sandel, a former Gloversville resident, died Thursday at the Teresian House in Albany. Mrs. Cardoza was born April 14, 1928 in Gloversville, daughter of the late Aaron and Beatrice Krauss Hand. She was educated in Gloversville schools and employed as a retail clerk at the former Sears Store and Argersinger's in Gloversville. A widow, Shirley had been married to Irving Sandel who pre-deceased her in 1974. Survivors include her children, Marc J. Sandel of Nashville TN and Susan White of Valatie. She is also survived by grandchildren, nieces and nephews. She was pre-deceased by two brothers; Seymour Hand and Howard Hand as well as a sister, Lorraine Hand Werthman. A graveside service will be held at Prospect Hill Cemetery Section 112, new section on Sunday, July 27 at 2pm. Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to the Kobuskie-Konik Funeral Home, 51 Fremont Street, Gloversville.
