I do not get the Leader Herald, and I just read about Marty's passing. I would have been there. We were friends in school in Oppenheim.Marty came into my work DMV a while back. I jumped right up and hugged him. Although it had been many years I instantly knew him and knew he was the same "gentle bear" that I remembered. I am so very sorry. I knew he had not been well, but I did not expect this. My heart goes out to all of his family.

Hey Marty,
I Know that we had a lot of difference's but we had 3 wonderful children together and that fact cannot be overlooked. You comming back from Florida was the best thing ever, to reconnect with your Children and Grandchildren, and yes harrass me again. Renting you the room was the easiest thing I did, finding you the way I did was the absolute hardest thing I ever had to do.I will truly miss you, the grandchildren and I will continue to use the milkshake maker and everytime we will toast to you. Maybe someone will want to try the awful butterscotch oatmeal you liked. LOL. I will miss you

Dad,
i just can't imaigine life without you. I checked my answering machine today to see if I could find your voice on it but it wasn't there. I remember the night before you left us how you took care of me and helped to bed because I was sick.I'm so thankful I got to spend the last moment's of your life w/you. on the brighter side of thing's you alway's made me laugh, and you gave me my own story teller Alyssa she alway's yelled @ you for making thing's up now she has become your clone, so you will never be far away. The last 2 years have wounderful watching play with your grandchildren I know you were a very happy man being home & our family was complete again. With All my love Dad!
Love your daughter,
Missy

We had a lot of good memories together. Like, the night before he died we where playing basketball. Then I though I killed him & I cried for like ever. Ill always remember me and grandma sitting in the living room and he coming in and she would yell at him for not doing anything. I remember when I was little and I'd go over to his house on bleeker street and try to use his cane as a baton. Ill never forget his stupid stories & saying grandpa tell the truth for once. Like when he used to tell me and my brothers that he wrestled an alligator and won. When, he did tell the truth no body would ever believe him.
Love your grandaughter,
alyssa.
