Joan - My heart and prayers are with you and your family during this most difficult time. I know from experience that there are no words to take away the pain of losing your mother, but I can tell you that the following poem gave me great comfort in the days and weeks following my mother's passing ~ I still carry it in my wallet and read it whenever I'm missing her:
Do not stand at my grave and weep;
I am not there, I do not sleep.
I am a thousand winds that blow;
I am the diamond glints on snow.
I am the sunlight on ripened grain;
I am the gentle autumn's rain.
When you awaken in the morning's hush,
I am the swift uplifting rush
Of quiet birds in circled flight.
I am the soft star that shines at night.
Do not stand at my grave and cry ~
I am not here; I did not die.
with fondest regards, Lynda
