Obituary of Donald W. Numbers

Mr. Donald W. Numbers Sr. Bubba, passed away Friday at his residence surrounded by his family and best friends, George and Laura Mattice, as well as Hospice caregivers. Mr. Numbers was born April 20, 1928 in Allentown, PA., son of the late David S. and Mildred M. Kieper Numbers. Educated in Allentown, he was employed for many years as a truck driver in the sanitation department for the city of Schenectady. An avid hunter, "Bubba", as he was known , also enjoyed fishing and spending time with family and friends. He was a corporal in the Marine Corps, serving from 1946 to 1948. Survivors include his children; Donald W. Numbers Jr. of Galway, Dennis Numbers Darlene of Galway, Dale Numbers Holly of Amsterdam and Judy Dooley of Florida. He is also survived by a sister, Diane McDemus of PA., a brother Richard Numbers of Virginia, an aunt, Eveylan Alderfer of PA., twelve grandchildren several great grandchildren, nieces and nephews. Mr. Numbers was pre-deceased by his wife Shirley Jessop Numbers, two daughters; Donna Numbers and Crystal Numbers and two sons; David Numbers and Douglas Numbers. The Numbers family would like to thank Hospice of Saratoga for their devoted care and support, especially Arlene, Alice, Karen and Maryanne. There will be no calling hours. Cremation took place at Parkview Crematory, Schenectady. A graveside service with military honors will be held 11 am Wednesday at Gerald B.H. Solomon Saratoga National Cemetery. Inurnment in a wall niche will follow services. Expressions of sympathy in his memory may be made to Hospice of Saratoga County, 179 Lawrence St. Saratoga Springs, N.Y. 12866. Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to the Jeffords & Stewart Funeral Home, 85 W. Main St. Broadalbin, N.Y. 12025.
