Obituary of Edwin M. Hallenbeck

Edwin M. Hallenbeck, 78, passed away Sunday, November 23, 2008 at Nathan Littauer Hospital in Gloversville. He was born November 30, 1929, the son of the late Clarence and Alice Rhodes Hallenbeck in Northville, NY. Edwin graduated from Gloversville High School and was employed as an electrician with the IBEW # 166 in Schenectady. Mr. Hallenbeck was the Vice President of the Gloversville School Board for six years from 1993 to 1999, he was a former city electrician for Gloversville, a member of the Concordia Club, a literacy volunteer, he coached for the American Legion Baseball League, he was on the Gloversville Council of Churches and was a Masonic Mason; for which he was a past Master Mason. Edwin was also an avid fisherman. On June 26, 1948, he married Patricia Johnson Hallenbeck, who survives. They celebrated sixty years of marriage together this year. In addition to his wife, survivors include: two sons: Michael P. Hallenbeck Michelle of Northville and Marc E. Hallenbeck Linda of Gloversville; two daughters: Susan C. Judge John of Palm Harbor, FL. and Lynda J. Place James of Tarpin Springs, FL.; one brother, Larry Hallenbeck Marion of Mayfield, eleven grandchildren, five great grandchildren and several nieces, nephews and cousins. Friends and family are invited and may call Tuesday, November 25 from 4 to 7 p.m. at the Walrath & Stewart Funeral Home, 51 Fremont St. Gloversville. A funeral service will be held there on Wednesday, November 26 at 10 a.m. with Pastor Chris Hamm presiding. Interment will be at Prospect Hill Cemetery in Gloversville.
