Dear Rita & Family
I first met Art 1965 at the GE and worked with him for almost 30 years. Art was a great friend & I will miss him very much. After retirement we did not see that much of each other only once a year at the GE Quarter Century but we were still good friends.

The loss of Arthur Manginelli, my Uncle and Godfather, will be grieved by many. My heart goes out to my Aunt Rita and cousins but also to all people who were lucky enough to have him touch their lives and will feel a loss in his passing. He was a man of honor and one who always made time to care for others. We will all forever carry our own set of memories of special times spent with him.
"Life is but a stopping place,
A pause in what's to be,
A resting place along the road,
to sweet eternity.
We all have different journeys,
Different paths along the way,
We all were meant to learn some things,
but never meant to stay...
Our destination is a place,
Far greater than we know.
For some the journey's quicker,
For some the journey's slow.
And when the journey finally ends,
We'll claim a great reward,
And find an everlasting peace,
Together with the lord"

Gosh, how sorrow ignites the memory. So many images and experiences have meandered through my mind since learning of Uncle Artâ??s passing. While I know it is a sad time, the images still make me smile.
There were holidays at Grammaâ??sâ?¦
Playing Michigan Rummy after a huge holiday meal.
There were stories of his time in the Armyâ?¦
How I laughed when his older brothers teased him.
How I enjoyed tagging along â?? watching and sharing the family interaction of brothers who seemed so close.
I enjoyed his sense of humorâ?¦
I loved his laughâ?¦
Iâ??ve seen him cryâ?¦
I remember the old Amsterdam house on the corner -- and the parties, and of course, the â??foodâ?!
Iâ??ve come to immediately love the woman he married â?? My Aunt, who was like a mother to my sisters, and confidant to us all. Always there with support, wearing a smile, offering a warm hug, a kiss -- and always preparing a favorite traditional dish.
Iâ??m glad for our last visit. It was wonderful to see you all and chat, laugh, and catch up on things.
Iâ??m sorry that Iâ??m not there now.
Iâ??m sorry there arenâ??t more memories, but the memories I carry with me are vivid, everlasting, and enjoyable indeed -- I cherish them.
With all my love and sympathy,
A
