Dear Dorothy, Laurie and Johnny, We were saddened to learn of your loss. We lived next door for many years growing up and will always remember the good times we had. My mom, Doris always enjoyed spending time with and exchanging stories with Dorothy. A few weeks ago we stopped by the Thayer Road home and were surprised to find someone else living there. We typically visit Amsterdam in May and will plan to visit Dorothy on the next trip. John, rest in peace.

Dear Mrs. Jacobs, Laurie and Johnny,
I am sorry for your loss. I will always remember Mr. Jacobs fondly, sitting in his recliner in the corner of the living room, and raising his hand to acknowledge the invasion of his home by a half dozen loud, giggling teenagers. Mr. Jacobs' service to our country and his strength and determination to survive as a POW have left an impression on me - he is a hero in my eyes. And who could deny his farming abilities - the guy grew amazing rhubarb and garlic! But I think his greatest accomplishment was marrying you, Mrs. Jacobs, and together raising kind, loving, generous and dedicated children, one of whom has been a lifelong friend of mine. I am so blessed with Laurie's friendship and thankful to her parents for sharing her with the world. Mr. Jacobs legacy will continue in the hearts and minds of his six wonderful grandchildren.
Mr. Jacobs, may your soul find a soft resting place. I am privileged to have known you.
Sincerely,
Kelly Burrell Roberts
