Virginia Gaida was a woman I will remember always for her sense of humor. Every once in awhile, a student is blessed to have a teacher they'll never forget. She made me love learning, and she recognized me for being an individual not just a name in her gradebook. One memory I'll always remember: A student brought in cupcakes for their birthday party. Mrs. Gaida had some chocolate on her lip, so I told her, "You have some on your face!" About 5 minutes later when I was eating my cupcake, she came up behind me and squished it all over my face. Her response, "Now you have some on YOUR face!" She was that kind of woman. Always knew how to make you smile. I am a teacher now, and aspire to make the kind of difference in my students' lives that she made in mine.
