Obituary of Charles F. Rose

Charles F. Rose, 60, of Gloversville passed away on Friday August 7, 2009 at Nathan Littauer Hospital. Chuck was born in Gloversville on February 8, 1949, the son of the late Charles and Elsie Manzer Rose. On May 30, 1987 Chuck was united in marriage with Patricia Bree and they shared 22 years together. He was a life long resident in the Fulton County area. After graduating from Gloversville High School, Chuck enlisted into the Untied States Marine Corps, where he served from 1967 ? 1971. During his time in the Marines, Charles was proud to have served on the U.S.S. John F. Kennedy Aircraft Carrier. Chuck was a volunteer fireman as well as Assistant Fire Chief for the Berkshire Volunteer Fire Department. He enjoyed playing guitar, and loved to go fishing. Chuck also loved to watch sports on TV, but most of all Chuck loved his family, his children, grandchildren, and his dog Mr. Chips. In addition to his wife Pat, Chuck is survived by his son Christopher Rose Mona of Schenectady; five step-children: Robert Baird Charlotte of Broadalbin, Diane Banks Todd of Gilboa, NY, Patricia Tichacek John of Massapequa Park, NY, Debra Baird of Gloversville, and Daniel Baird of Gloversville. Additional survivors include four brothers and one sister: John Rose Dawn of Gloversville, Jim Rose Robin of Johnstown, Michael Rose Pam of Gloversville, Kim Boles Kevin of Gloversville, and Robert Rose Heidi of North Carolina. Twenty-one grandchildren, 1 great grandchild, and several nieces, nephews and cousins also survive. A memorial service will be conducted at 3:00 p.m. Monday, August 10, 2009 at Jeffords & Stewart Funeral Home, 85 West Main Street, Broadalbin, with the Rev. Dr. R.W. Williams officiating. The family will receive friends and relatives from 1:00 p.m. until 3:00 p.m. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions can be made in memory of Chuck to the American Cancer Society, 260 Osborne Road, Loudonville, NY 12211.
