Obituary of Thomas Clarke

Thomas Clarke, Jr., 35, died unexpectedly Tuesday, November 10, 2009. He was born February 26, 1974 in Novato, CA. the son of Renee Aguire and Thomas Clarke, Sr. Tom was employed as a graphic designer for Amsterdam Print for several years. He was most recently working as a CNA at the Wells House in Johnstown, a job he absolutely loved. He felt a very strong connection to elderly people and took much pride in caring for them. An amazing and dedicated father, Tom's children were the absolute light of his life. He loved to build things for them, play with them and share his love of the outdoors with them. He was a talented artist and handyman as well. Tom was a high energy guy, always willing to lend a hand and share a smile. He will be very sadly missed. In addition to his parents, Tom is survived by his wife, Christy Valik Clarke of Johnstown; a son, Nicholas Clarke of Burriville, Rhode Island; two daughters: Elizabeth Clarke and Kaylee Clarke, both of Johnstown; a brother, Jason Clarke of Warren, RI; a sister, Lechia Lemoi Damian of Cranston, RI; a mother and step father-in-law, Jeanne and William Baker of Gloversville; a father-in-law, John Valik Kim of St. Johnsville; a step mother-in-law, Jane Valik of FL; several aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins and his beloved cat, Jack. Family and friends are invited to attend funeral services Monday, November 16 at 11 a.m. at Christ Lutheran Church, 1 West Montgomery Street, Johnstown with Pastor L. David Almleaf presiding. A visitation will be held an hour prior beginning at 10 a.m. Cremation will take place at Park View Crematorium in Schenectady.
