Obituary of Eunice Elwood

Mrs. Eunice Elwood, 76, of Toureauna Rd., Amsterdam, NY passed away Saturday December 26, 2009 at her home with her loving family at her side. Born in Johnstown, NY on December 10, 1933 a daughter of Charles and Ida Mae Snyder Ropeter. She was a lifelong resident of the area and was a graduate of Johnstown High School. Eunice worked for over 20 years as a Personnel Manager for K-Mart in Amsterdam. She was of the Protestant Faith. She married Robert F. Elwood on September 14, 1951. He passed away earlier this year on May 8, 2009. Mrs. Elwood is survived by one son, Robert Elwood Christine of Broadalbin, NY. Three daughters, Sharon Banewicz of Amsterdam, NY. Brenda Schoonmaker John of Austin, TX and Dale LymanRichard of Scotia, NY. Her nurses aides Sharon Hayes and Ericca Santiago. 10 Grandchildren and 7 great grandchildren, nieces, nephews and cousins also survive. Funeral services will be held on Thursday December 31, 2009 at 1:00 P.M. at the Betz, Rossi & Bellinger Family Funeral Home, 171 Guy Park Ave, Amsterdam with Rev. Jill Farnum presiding. Interment will be held in the Spring in West Glenville Cemetery. The family will receive relatives and friends on Wednesday December 30, 2009 from 4:00 to 7:00PM at the funeral home.
