I am so sorry to hear of your father's passing. May God bless you and your family is these difficult times and may be give you the strength to deal with these days. I know how difficult it is to lose someone so close to you. It may be hard, but just remember that he is in a far better place than us right now.
Though I went to Hialeah High just after your Dad had left, I still remember hearing my sister talk about how wonderful he was. He left a legacy at Hialeah and will be mised by us all.

Dear Pat, Richie, Jennie, and Donn,
We were so saddened to hear of the passing of Sal. Your husband/father was such a wonderful man in every sense of the word. We both have such fond memories of Sal coming to our rescue in the early part of our teaching careers. Without his guidance neither of us would have survived those early years. He was our knight in shining armor coming to our rescue so many times with words of wisdom and understanding. We will never forget him.
Our love and condolences to all of you.

But my most wonderful rememberances come from the delightful stories my mom, Betty Stoinoff would relay about Sal Susi!
Mom was an English teacher and Guidance Counselor with Mr. Susi for years. She always recounted he was a wonderful leader and most especially .... a wonderful friend.
Thank you for being a special person and touching so many lives!

To Pat and the Susi Family: Our first memory of Mr. Susi was at the old Hialeah Jr.High It is now So. Hialeah Elementary. Harry and Mary Walton, my parents, worked with Sal starting at the Jr. High and when the new Hialeah High School opened, the terrific faculty moved to Hialeah High. Sal worked in P.E. with Pat and we remember him as such a wonderful person for us all to look up to at Hialeah High. He was a leader and a friend, a teacher and a mentor to me and so many of my classmates in those years. I loved running into him when he played golf at Miami Springs Country Club. We always had a good visit. He enjoyed the game of golf so much and was in such a good group of fellow players. We were all lucky to have been students when he was at Hialeah High. He had a wonderful reputation and was so well thought of by my parents and our whole Walton family. Our prayers are with you all. Bruce and Judy Walton Class of '57 and '59.

I am sure that I speak for all coaches that served under Sal Susi at Hialeah High by saying Sal was a coaches' principal. He understood the value of athletics to a high school student body, in that it developed a feeling of family which helped in bringing everyone together. As former coach, it was a great feeling to have Sal visit your practices and know that he truly cared about the coaches and players on a personal level regardless of record. He made my coaching experience at Hialeah High one I will always remember fondly and with great pride! Thanks for everything Sal!

Dear Susi Family-
Heartfelt condolences sent your way.
So many memories flood my mind of my beautiful father, George Dolan, the "Irishman" and Sal Susi, the "Italian"!....I remember as a young girl the day I met Sal....Looking back to those old Hialeah days, there are so many memories. He and Dad shared a lot of experiences in the classroom and on the field. Even after the death of my first baby in 1971, Sal offered such gentle and sincere thoughts of comfort....My Dad thought Sal was one fine guy....My Mother passed away last year- one is reminded how life flows on one day and leaves the next.....Take comfort in the time you had with Sal. He will be remembered as a fine husband, father, teacher and friend by so many.

Pat and all,
My friend for so many moments in High school at Hialeah is gone. No finer man or teacher graced the earth. My remembrance of Hialeah was that with Roy Brawner and Fleet Parsons, Sal was the go to guy in all areas of athletics. Then when I would jog around Miami Lakes, I would often see and chat with Sal who always was a friend since high school. Death and the finality it brings to those who miss him is painful, but I rather say thank you God for giving me the opportunity to have as a friend, Sal Susi. From my wife Peg and I we extend our heartfelt condolences and wish you the joy of knowing your man was loved by me and many like me.
