Obituary of Judith G. Cossart

Judith G. Cossart, 60, of Prospect Street, passed away peacefully Tuesday evening at the Hospice Inn at St. Peter's in Albany with her husband at her side. Judy fought a very brave battle with ovarian cancer. Born in Amsterdam on September 24, 1949, she was the only child of the late Steve and Ida Grinces Natonski. She was a graduate of the class of 1967 of Wilbur H. Lynch High School and later Becker College in Worcester Mass. She worked for Westinghouse and later General Electric for a time. Judy then attended Maria College in Albany, earning a degree in physical therapy. She had the highest grade average at Maria and was given the Bishop's Award. She worked in that capacity for the LaMarco facility in Saratoga Springs for ten years retiring due to ill health. She and her husband enjoyed travel and spending time at their summer home at the Sacandaga Lake. Judy loved the outdoors, kayaking, hiking and fishing. Even faced with her own illness, Judy was an inspiration to others who were ill. Her family and many friends will truly miss her. She was a parishioner of the former St. Casimir's Roman Catholic Church. She leaves her beloved husband Arthur A. Cossart of Tribes Hill; son Michael A. Cossart and daughter Jennifer L. Cossart of Amsterdam as well as aunts, uncles, cousins . It was Judy's request that services be private and that there be no calling hours. Fr. John Medwid will officiate. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made in Judy's name to the National Shrine Of North American Martyrs in Auriesville in care of the funeral home office. Her family has entrusted her services to the care of the Betz, Rossi & Bellinger Family Funeral Home, 171 Guy Park Avenue, Amsterdam.
