David L. Kluska, 63, of Perthshire Drive, died unexpectedly Tuesday, March 30, 2010 at his home. He was born in Amsterdam November 11, 1946 son of the late Lawrence C. and Idabel Bissinett Kluska.
David was a life resident of the area and was a 1964 graduate of Wilbur H. Lynch High School in Amsterdam. He served his country during the Vietnam War era with the U.S. Air Force from 1964 to 1974. During the end of his service, he attended Union College in Schenectady where he obtained his Bachelor's Degree in Business in 1974.
He married the former Phyllis Morreale of Broadalbin on August 26, 1972. Together, the couple owned and operated The Perthshire in the town of Perth. David was known for his philanthropy, hosting numerous fundraisers for the benefit of many individuals and organizations over the years of business, along with countless weddings and banquets.
He was very involved with his community and was a Vol. Fireman with Thomas Corners and with Glenville Hills Vol. Fire Departments and was a member of Montgomery County and Fulton County Chamber of Commerce.
Above all else, family was the most important thing in David's life. His greatest joys were spent skiing, boating, camping and spending time on Sacandaga Lake with his family. He was a pilot of small planes and gliders and loved to travel. Throughout his life he continued to learn new things and seek out new challenges.
