Obituary of Yvonne Crocetta

Yvonne "Bonnie" Claire Young Crocetta, 72, born in Gloversville, NY, current resident of Leesburg FL/ Selkirk, NY passed away on April 17, 2017 at St. Peter's Hospital after battling a long-term illness. Bonnie was the daughter of James O. Young and Flora V. Aesch and sister to Dennis G. Young. A graduate of the class of 1962 at Mayfield High School, she attended Albany Business College before earning her paralegal degree from SCCC, which would eventually lead to her work for Honorable Judge Mario Albanese in Gloversville and later her position as Office Manager at NYS OCTF in Albany for over 20 years. After retirement, Bonnie was a dedicated and caring volunteer. She coordinated the gift shop at the Ten Broeck Mansion, delivered flowers to patients at St. Peter's Hospital, worked at election booths for the Board of Elections, spotted the ski jump for the Winter Games in Lake Placid, and most notably, looked after exchange students placed throughout the Capital Region for many years. In addition to her devotion to volunteerism, Bonnie was a traveler; adventuring to Europe, the Caribbean, Australia, and all throughout the United States. Above all, Bonnie should be remembered for her kind heart and her immense love for family and friends. She is survived by her loving husband Joe Lent (Leesburg, FL) and his family, brother Dennis (Denny) G. Young and family (Gloversville, NY), two sons Joseph A. Crocetta (Delmar, NY) and Christopher J. Crocetta (Gloversville, NY), daughters-in-law Lynn Crocetta and Maryann Ovitt, her four grandchildren Nicholas, Jacob, Jillian, and Douglas, as well as many cousins, nieces, and nephews. Bonnie Young Crocetta was a traveler, unafraid to explore the country in an RV, a bird-watcher (with a special affection for the woodduck), an avid reader, a jewelry maker, a sand collector, a lover of beaches and flowers, a caregiver, and a smiler. To commemorate her life there will be a gathering planned in the near future. Arrangements have been entrusted to the care of Walrath & Stewart Funeral Home, Gloversville.
