We are so very sorry. We have enjoyed so many wonderful visits with Carmeta at Saltsman's! Her shining smile and that twinkle in her eye when she entered a room always brought out the best in us. She was a gem! Our hearts are with you all during this difficult time.
With our deepest sympathy,
Tammie & Jim

Our dear mother, Eleanor Hartigan, always loved her special relationship with her cousin Carmeta and the many summer trips to visit at Caroga Lake and catch up with one another's busy lives. May Carmeta rest in peace! Dianne Hartigan Alois

Our wonderful friend: God has called home a beautiful lady. I know he has the table all set for you to play bridge. I wish I had my camera to have taken a picture of you and Fred putting that puzzle together. I don't know which one was more intent. You brought much joy into my life. You will always be in my heart and in my prayers. We love you. You can now walk among among the angels as you are one. With a very sad heart......We love you Carmeta.
God Bless Shirley and Fred

Dear Gary, Marie, Mackenzie & Payton,
Remembering your wonderful Mother/Grandmother, and wishing you comfort as you prepare to celebrate her life. Carmeta was an amazing lady, and I have been blessed to have known her all these years. I will cherish the memories of our conversations in her Living Room about our families, and the Good Old Days; dinners at Saltsman's; drinking a glass of wine from Pigeon Forge, TN; and watching her mow her back yard riding her tractor (I still have the photo).
We will be keeping you in our Thoughts & Prayers!

I worked for many years at the Fort Plain Free Library where Carmeta was a weekly patron. Yes indeed she was an avid reader. She would often come in with her sister, Jessie. I loved to listen to their "discussions" on what was the better book to read. Carmeta certainly kept the library statistics up. She will be missed.

I have always missed the evenings around my mom's kitchen table on Prospect Hill when Carmeta would come over and we would all sit and talk for hours. Most of my wardrobe would not have fit me if it had not been for Carmeta. She was my mom's best friend and we all considered her a part of our family. Maybe there is a kitchen table somewhere where they can now continue those evening conversations.......

Carmeta has been in that house next to my parents my whole life, it will be strange not having her there. There will always be fond memories of childhood with her included. May God bless her and her family. May she rest in peace.

It really is going to seem so different without Carmeta being next door to us. When we built out house on Garfield St., 61 years ago, Carmeta was living in the house next to us and it has been that way until now. What changes over those past 61 years. Gary, Marie, Payton and MacKenzie, please know that our deepest sympathy goes out to you. The Lord has called your Mom and now she will be at peace. May the Lord be with all of you as well to help you through these troubled times. Remember all the good times you had with her., I know that she loved you all dearly. Farewell my friend.
