Dear Santiago Family..."Just as the bloom is the beauty of the rose, a Mother is the glory of her Family."
Having had the pleasure of meeting "MOM" on several of her visits to NJ, I can only say that I will miss talking to her on Kina's front porch. We would be talking and she would throw in a few words in Spanish - I had no idea what she said to me, so I just nodded my head in agreement. Please accept our deepest sympathy at this difficult time. She lived a long life and has a very large Family to carry on her many wonderful memories. IF TEARS COULD BUILD A STAIRWAY AND MEMORIES A LANE I’D WALK RIGHT UP TO HEAVEN AND BRING YOU HOME AGAIN…
I still remember sitting in your kitchen while you melted chocolate on the stove to make hot chocolate as Grandpa sat by the window with the pigeons you would sing my song. Or the one of many picnics to Flushing Meadow Park where the menu was Rice, Beans, Pernil and Pastelles while Grandpa sat in his aluminum chair feeding the birds. We would spend all day there and then pack into the old station wagon.. you are in a better place Grandma but you will be terribly missed. If I could turn back the hands of time and remove the pain that's been cause, If I could undo the damage that's been done, I would do my best to change it all...
But unfortunately, the Lord calls on us when he is ready for us, no matter how we try to avoid death, when it is ready for us we have to leave. We can't hide or cheat death... I know that saying "sorry" can't never be enough.....
but I hope that in some way it'll help to ease the hurt and pain.. As I open up my heart to say I'm sorry.

First of all, I wish the entire Santiago family my deepest condolences. I met Grandma 31 years ago and instantly appreciated her wit, humor, and her love for good old fashion Comida Latina -- Boy good she cook!! It was great as she was the center of all the gatherings. I have so many wonderful memories of her and miss all those times terribly. We all know she will be sorely missed. Love Cesar
