It was back in 1964-1968 that I knew "Nell Swift",the mother of my best friend Eleanore. She was an artist and on several occasions critiqued portraits that I sketched of various schoolmates. I still use her advice & tips. She also frequently made pizza for Eleanore & me after school. She quietly tolerated me, even though I spent far too much time there, making a nuisance of myself. After renewing our friendship last year, Eleanore & I write each other every day by email. I am saddened by Mrs.Swift's death & have pondered many memories of seeing her way back in the 60's,including seeing her in that little red sportscar.
