Whenever we came to the family reunions, Aunt Dorothy was always there to take me and my brother and sisters out for a special treat. Brown cows! One of my fondest memories of Broadalbin and Dorothy.

Dorothy was a friend to all. My daughter Hannah often referred to her as one of her best friends, despite the 74 year age difference. From a very early age, she and Dorothy bonded at the BUMC plant booth and their friendship grew over the years. We knew that Dorothy would always view the church events at her window if she could not attend. Hannah would always make a quick trip over to Dorothy's to fill her in and make sure she didn't miss any of the excitement. Even when Dorothy had to leave her home, we continued meaningful visits and kept up with news. She will be missed; we cherish the memories and lessons learned from this phenomenal lady.

I have such fond memories of my Aunt Dorothy, but the one that I am especially fond of is the one where she lead the Methodist Youth Fellowship Group. While we were a bunch of young, fun-loving teenagers, here was my childless Aunt successfully instilling religious beliefs, earning our respect, and letting us be teenagers! I always admired how she lived such a frugal life, yet was always there for those in need. I know our church will miss her, but she lives on in the many ways she has touched each and everyone of us.

What a wonderful lady who touched so many lives. I have worked at BUMC for almost four years and she knew what time I arrived and left every Tuesday and every Thursday to the minute! I can still see her smile when she got that extra piece of strawberry shortcake to take home at the church dinners. Straightening the prayer shawls was so important to Dorothy as well as many things in the church. All the little things she did will be missed forever. She was also blessed to have such a wonderful family and especially her nephew Clyde, who undoubtedly kept her going and took care of her till the end. Clyde, you were and are your
Aunt's Angel.

To Dorothy's Family,
I will always remember Dorothy when I worked with her at Mohawk Furniture in the 1970's. She was always so kind to me. She also came to my home once and dug up all of my grandmothers dafodils. She said that she was going to replant them at her home on Mill St. A few years after you could drive by her house and see all of those dafodils which made my heart happy because they were originally my grandmothers. Always helping people and always a big smile on her face. I used to see her at Mary's house next door to my parents and we would always talk or wave. She was a gem of a person that is for sure. Now she is with her Lord and is very happy. God bless her.

My Dear Friend Mildred was a reciepient of Dorothy's generosity. Dorothy used to get Mildred's groceries and also alerted me to Mildred's failing condition. This was more than 10+ years ago. I admired Dorothy for her selflessness and generosity. May God place her in his loving arms and give her the comfort she so wonderfully provided to others.
