Obituary of Daniel J. Mowrey

The beautiful young life of Daniel J. Mowrey ended suddenly on November 5, 2010 at St. Mary's Hospital, Amsterdam. He was 24 years young and resided in Broadalbin and Amsterdam. Dan was born December 10, 1985 in Newark, Delaware, the son of Donald Mowrey and Nancy Cullington Mowrey. He attended Our Lady of Fatima Elementary School in New Castle, DE. He and his family relocated to Broadalbin in 1998. Dan was a 2003 graduate of Broadalbin-Perth High School where he played on the Varsity Soccer Team. He also attended Fulton-Montgomery Community College. He attended St. Joseph's Church, Broadalbin, and was employed by Quandt's Food Service Distributors of Amsterdam in its warehouse until his death. He enjoyed spending time with his family and friends, and was fond of pets and all animals. An avid baseball fan of the New York Yankees, he also liked the Philadelphia Eagles football team. Dan's survivors include: his mother, Nancy C. Mowrey Liz Mahon of Broadalbin; his father, Donald Mowrey of Seaford, DE; his fiancée, Rosanna Leon, with whom he resided in Amsterdam; and his paternal grandmother, Anna Mowrey of Seaford, DE. Also surviving are his aunts and uncles: Mary Cullington, Joe Cullington Maura, Karen Spangler Bruce and Donna Littleton Harrison; as well as several cousins and countless friends that he held very dear. The family will receive relatives and friends from 4 to 7 p.m. Tuesday at Jeffords & Stewart Funeral Home, 85 W. Main St; Broadalbin. A Mass of Christian Burial will take place at 11:00 a.m. Wednesday at St. Joseph's Church, North St; Broadalbin. The Rev. Thomas Morrette will be the celebrant. Interment will take place at All Saints Cemetery, Newark, DE.
