I met Chrissy when she was living up in Salisbury on Avery Road and attending St. Joseph Church in Dolgeville. We kept in touch over the years. corresponded, spoke on the phone, and got together for good food and conversation. Here is a story that shows why she was so special to me. Next to the church in Dolgeville was a house where a man lived with his adult daughter, Donna. When the father passed away, Donna fell on hard times and was unable to take care of herself for many reasons. The water and electric and gas were turned off. She continued to live there ,through two winters N(NO HEAT)refusing government help, and getting water from the church office and food from the Dolgeville pantry. I was telling Chrissy about Donna one day on a phone call. She said something to the effect that "no matter how bad you think you have it, someone is always suffering more." Then she got excited and said "I can help her!! I can give you some of my money and you can take it to her." Because Donna didn't take money, Chrissy didn't have to share any of her scarce resources. But she was always willing to help! She had the biggest heart and a lot of her impulses were for helping others!
