Obituary of Tullio A. Palleschi

Tullio A. Palleschi Sr., 82, of East Main Street, passed away Monday morning at St. Mary's Hospital after a short illness. Born September 6, 1928 in Fontechiari, Prov. Frosinone, Italy, he was the son of the late Madelana and Frank Palleschi. He was educated in Italy and came to Schenectady, NY in 1944 and later moved to Fonda 1951 where he has since resided. Tullio was employed by General Electric Company in Schenectady until retiring a number of years ago. He was a parishioner of St. Cecilia's Roman Catholic Church in Fonda; 54 year member, former Fire Chief and EMT of the Fonda Volunteer Fire Department and a member of the Johnstown Moose Lodge. Tullio enjoyed fishing, gardening, making wine, wood working and was very active in the community. On April 28, 1951 he married the former Mildred I. "Millie" Zannitto who passed away June 27, 2010. He was also predeceased by a grandson, Michael D. Norman who passed away March 18, 2002; two brothers and one sister. Tullio is survived by his loving family, a son, Tullio A. Palleschi Jr. Cynthia of Chittenango, NY; a daughter, Katherine Norman Michael of Fonda; a sister in Italy; three grandchildren, Craig Palleschi Jillian of Mt. Arlington, NJ, Lauren Norman of Fonda and Jennifer Kohl Kevin of Liverpool, NY; several, nieces, nephews and cousins. Funeral services will be held on Saturday, November 27, 2010, at 9:00am at the Jackson & Betz Funeral Home, 15 Main Street, Fultonville, NY, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial to be celebrated at 10:00 am at St. Cecilia's Roman Catholic Church in Fonda with the Fr. Thomas Marciniak as celebrant. Burial will take place in St. Cecilia's Cemetery in Fonda. Calling hours will be held on Friday from 4 to 7 pm at the funeral home. Memorial contributions may be made in Tullio's memory to the Fonda Volunteer Fire Department, P. O. Box 71, Fonda, NY 12068.
