Where to begin. such fond memories of singing an laughter. I am sure going to miss Jack's Birthday song. Also going to miss laughing so hard my sides hurt at the stories of Jack and Dad as crazy young boys. Dad will miss his life long pal and their monthly rides in the country, along with precious moments they spent together through life and toward the end of Jacks. So happy my girls were able to meet the man who taught me so much about life. Will always cherish the canoe trip where he dumped me in the cold river while trying to get over a bever damn. Jack: Thank you for being such a wonderful part of my life. I will miss you dearly.

Rosene,
Susie and I were glad to see you the other night and as everyone so saddened of Jacks passing. Jack will always hold a special place with us. I remember the many talks he and I shared especially during those early years of my political career. He has been and always will be a great inspiration to us. Jack was so quiet the way he went about his career and never looked for that pat on the back. He has touched the lives of so many through his work, public service, and in his life and don't think half the people would ever know who the real man behind the scenes really was. Along with being a great family man to all of of you he was a great friend and human being to the rest of us. Jack will be missed by many but not forgotten.

Dear Rosene and Family, It has been a little over thirty years since we lived at 245 Main Street, Ft. Plain. Our girls: Jennifer, Colleen, and Andrea were in school with Mark and Patty, and Dick served on the Board of Education with Jack. Dick said that Jack blamed him for getting him on the Board, and then we left town ! We were so sorry to hear of Jack's passing on December 23rd. Our sincere sympathy to you and your family. So many weekends spent with Mark and Patty at the house in Fort Plain. So many dinners sitting at the Stickley table in the dinning room. The weekends cross-country skiing. I will never forget the trip to North Carolina that our families shared together.
Jack had a profound effect on my development. He was always patient and treated me like an adult, even from my earliest memories. In some cultures it is the responsibility of your father's brother to help raise you as a son. Jack definitely was that brother to my father in my childhood. I always felt like a part of the Cunnan family.
It is with great sadness I think about his passing. Mark, Patty, and Rosene, please know that you are in my thoughts and I will always cherish the memories we share as an extended family.
Love,
Bobby

Dad...One of my favorite moments with you was when you told me it was time to take the training wheels off my used purple huffy bike with the white banana seat..I pedaled up the back road to the high school parking lot with you holding on the back bar jogging along behind me...when we got to the flat lot, you told me to pedal hard and balance..I remember telling you "Dad, Don't let go!!"...I pedaled and kept looking behind me..you were still there. As you told me to keep looking ahead and pedal faster, I remember the breeze in my face and feeling a little proud of myself...I looked behind me to tell you how excited I was and you were no longer holding on to me...you were way back behind me standing in the parking lot watching me go!....I think I remember being upset for a few seconds until I saw you smiling at me...you must have been proud of me too. Thank you for always being there for me..knowing when to hang on to me and when to let go!! I love you!!

I love the picture that you have put on the website. I know he must have been a wonderful husband and father. More than a half a century has passed and I can still see him, funny, determined, and generous. May you be consoled in your grief of his loss. Know that others grieve with you.

Dear Rosene,
We are very very sorry for your loss. Our thoughts and prayers are with you and your family.
The many memories of Jack go all the way back to the days at Solvay High School. But, probably the happiest time was celebrating at the 40th Reunion when Jack's delightful sense of humor left us with wonderful memories that we cherish to this day. We deeply missed him at the 50th Reunion and wished he and you could have been there.
Jack is resting in peace now but he will live in all of our hearts forever.

It was with great sadden that I learned of Jack's passing. We had a lot of great times together often with Jack sitting just in front of me as classmates at both Solvay and Clarkson. He loved cars and was always making sketches of hot rods and dragsters. Jack was determined to be an Civil Engineer and thought Clarkson suited him because there were no girls at that time in class to distract him. Oh yes, we did enjoy afew brews together. My condolances to his family and many friends who's lives have been enriched from knowing Jack.

Jack's passing has left a large hole in my life. What a good-natured guy! What a good friend!
We spent many hours exchanging views and trading knowledge in ego-less conversation.
Usually, it was about engineering and science or politics.
Sometimes it was about mortality. Alas.
I was awed by his projects: putting a new foundation under his house; replacing the engine in his Healy...
Goodbye, Jack, I hope this passes your sentimentality filter.

In the spring, we would enjoy the weather while skiing. I remember the bike rides I took with him south of Fort Plain. We had many fine days on fishing trips in New Hampshire and Massachusetts, and fine dinners of cod, pollock and haddock. I will miss the many parties at his house. We are so sorry for your loss. I don't know where to begin with the many memories that Dick and I have of our time with Jack. We had fun with him at the Patterson's when his Mom would play the piano, we went on canoe trips in the Adirondacks. I'm sure most memorable is the camping trip he talked me into with the four of us. Serving on the Fort Plain Board of Education with him was an honor. He always did a wonderful job in anything he put his mind to. It has been years but we still talk about him and the good times we had with new friends that we meet. You have wonderful memories, hold on to them and they will get you through this time.
