Joanne and family
I just heard of your father's passing. I am so sorry for your loss.
You boys would not remember living on Bleecker St. Life was much simpler and neighbors were friends.
My Dad and yours had many adventures in those days. Painting each others house, thefun they had and the guys watching the Boxong every friday nite. And most of all, your parents naming Frank after
my Dad. My father was so honored,
because all he had was my sister and me.
His smile and zest of life was
his gift to all of us.
Joanne give mea call when you can
My prayers are with you all

Dear Hoose Family,
Please know that you are all in our thoughts and prayers at this time of sorrow. We will be with you in spirit today and tomorrow as you attend the service to honor and celebrate Genes' extraordinary life. As so many have commented, Gene's smile will always be remembered. His songs were silly and inspiring at the same time. Our families had so many fun times together. I know the fishing buddies are all gathered around having a cold one on us. Take care of each other. Lots of hugs to all.
Blessings, peace, hope, joy, faith, trust, grace, mercy and love,
The DeForte Family

Hoose family,
Your father was a fine man. I always enjoyed his laugh and smile. I also remember many dinners with your father at the house. He was a fairly good cook if I remember right. I also remember laughing to myself when your father was yelling at Frank which as you know was often. You all are in my thoughts and I hope you enjoy reminiscing about your father, a fine man indeed.

To the Hoose Family--continuation from previous entry
I’m definitely so grateful to have know him for so many years, as well as the entire Hoose family. We need to keep these wonderful memories alive. Gene planted many seeds figuratively and literally!! to encourage all of us to enjoy life to the fullest. May he rest in peace but rejoin Margo and his gang of wonderful fishing buddies in heaven and get to work on another pot of great clam chowder & sausages & peppers for us all to enjoy eventually!!
God Bless You All.

To the Hoose Family -
Recently I heard the song "Paper Doll" and of course that brought up the wonderful memory of your Dad, my Dad, Pete, etc., singing it at numerous parties, weddings, clambakes, etc. and we all know they could only remember the first few verses and then would repeat it again and again until they were asked to do another song like "Yellow submarine"! How many people do we know in our lifetime...that when we think of them- it brings up wonderful images and memories of gardens, clambakes, and family get togethers, as well as a genuine and sincere smile like your Dad had all the time when he would drop by our home.

He was made of a stock that we don't see much of anymore, tough and stong, but kind and gentle. He's at peace and suffers no more. Our thoughts and prayers are with you all at this time. Condolences from your fellow snowmachine friends at Southern Adirondack Snowmobilers.

Rick & Carol & Hoose family.
Our deepest condolences on the passing of your dad. Our thoughts and prayers are with you during this difficult time. I remember the first time I met your dad he had a smile that I will never forget and I remember how excited he was a few months ago about gathering up the knitted blankets that the church had donated for the veterans at the VA hospital. It was a honor to know a man who fought for his country and took pride in it. I loved to hear the storys of his time spent with his children and how he enjoyed going to hunting camp and to see the love they had for each other. I will remember the last talk that Rick and I had about his dad a week ago and how whenever Rick talked about his dad he had the same smile and how it made me laugh and also the love he had for him.

Part 3—See Parts 1 and 2 previously entered below.
By now Gene has been reunited and has started the sing-a-long with Margo, John, Pete, Marian, Marv, Janet, Bob, Doris, Howard, and the many, many others who touched Gene's life in some special way.
Gene, watch over the rest of us from above, and send us a tune now and then that you loved. One that will remind us of you and one that will help us get through.
Yes, "We all Live in a Yellow Submarine"..."When Irish Eyes Are Smiling"..."You Can Bring Joe With the Broken Toe, but Don't Bring LuLu"..."99 Bottles of Beer on the Wall"...and, of course, "Everything is Beautiful, In Its Own Way....
Thanks for a beautiful life!
Love, Gail Collier Ryan and Jerry Ryan

Part 2—Continued:
He made the best clam chowder, and could always yell louder; he could drive a truck, no matter what, and was always ready to share a buck.
He was a special friend to my Dad, John, and Mom, Marge; and it was always fun when Gene was around. He lit up the room with his jovial way, and when he would leave, he would almost always say--"Everything is beautiful, in its own way" so no matter what was happening, you felt hopeful that day.
Gene had an impact on many lives; Gene was lucky to have two wives.
Gene said goodbye that January day;
Gene Hoose will live on, though, in so many special ways.
Wish we could be with you all to celebrate the end of an era, but please know we are thinking of you as you say your final goodbyes to such a very special guy. Give him a final smile from us!

Part 1 of 3—From Gail Collier Ryan:
Dear Shirley, Joanne, John, Janet, Tom, Karen, Rick, Frank, Naya, Bonnie, grandchildren, and other relatives and friend,
Our thoughts are with you at this sad time as you deal with the death of husband, father, father-in-law, grandpa, and a very special friend to so many.
Gene will be remembered by all who knew him, who happened to casually interact with him, who happened to share a special moment with him because of his unique ability to make everyone smile, everyone laugh, everyone sing-along, everyone help one another, everyone have a great time, everyone join in, everyone be one when he was around!
Gene was a socializer, gardener, and painter; he was a fireman, fisherman, and a singer-man! He was a great dad, husband to Margo and Shirley, and grandpa to so many.

Dear Hoose Family:
As a builder/developer, I bought plenty of O'Brien paint from Gene. I really liked Gene and his paint and I believe I continued to buy that paint from Sherill Gallup for years after that.
Gene was a very nice person and smart as could be. He lived a good and useful life and I wish I could have stayed in touch with him all these years. I am sure he raised a good family and that you all will have wonderful memories to keep him in your hearts.
My kindest regards,
