To the Lambdin family,
As a child growing up next door to the Lambdins, Betty was "Mrs. Lambdin" to me and an important part of my life. My friendship with Tom and Claudia and their children is a treasure to me - one that I get to celebrate too infrequently with them. My appreciation for Bill "Mr. Lambdin" as well as Bill and Beth is a part of my deepest memories - like many of those things that are part of the formation in our lives. I am sorry to hear of her death but know that she had been declining for some time. Death comes to all of us. God's goodness is promised in death's presence. I hope you all sense God's presence through this.

Dear Lambdins,
I am so sorry for your loss. Because two of the three Lambdin children were my French students, I can sincerely say that she was a fine woman to have raised all of you to become the successful young people you are today. My sincerest condolences.

Dear Bill and Family;
So very sad to hear of Betty's passing. The many years I was your mail carrier it was always a pleasure to stop and visit with you both. We enjoyed talking about our
childrens sports events and seeing Tom throw the hammer at the Empire State Games. Betty always had a smile and kind words when ever I saw her. Bill sending my prayers and sincere sympathy to you in your time of grief and want you to know
that it's people like you and Betty
who made the world a better place
with your kindness that many of us will remember.

Dear Bill,Bill,Beth and Tom,
After all these years I can still hear her voice and see her smile. Also, I can still taste her chocolate chip cookie bars. Kind, patient, a careful listener, thoughtful - these are the traits I remember. I will be sifting through fond memories of those times when we came out of the "bomb shelter" long enough to converse with her at least a bit. I will be thinking of you all in the days ahead.

I wish I could say something that would ease the pain. Hopefully, it will help to know that others share in your grief. I will always remember Betty as a gentle and gracious woman and friend.
