Obituary of Joyce M. Rorick

Mrs. Joyce M. Rorick, 80 of Johnson Ave. Johnstown, died Friday March 11, 2011 at Ellis Hospital. She was born September 7, 1930 in Gloversville, daughter of the late Keith and Mary Howland Meyers. Joyce had been employed over 32 years at Nathan Littauer Hospital as a nurse's aide. She was married to Donald W. Rorick on October 16, 1948, he pre-deceased her in 2001. Survivors include her children: Sandra Pedrick Rick of Gloversville, David Rorick Sr. of Caroga Lake, Ronald Rorick Darlene of Gloversville, and Todd Rorick Jodi of Caroga Lake. She is also survived by her grandchildren; Allison, Amy, Davey, Dustin, Damin, Ryan, Holly, Todd Jr., T.J. and Laura .Joyce has seven great grandchildren, nieces , nephews and cousins. She was pre-deceased by a son, Keith John Rorick, a sister, Arlene Marshall and two brothers; Donald Meyers and Raymond Meyers, and a daughter-in-law Locksey Rorick. Joyce had a great love for animals and was often seen feeding stray cats and dogs. She leaves her five cats; Tiger, Peanut, Snowball, cowboy and mittens. Joyce loved spending time with family and her many friends. Funeral services will be held 1 pm Tuesday March 15, 2011 at Kobuskie-Konik Funeral Home, 51 Fremont St. with Reverend R.W. Williams officiating. The family will receive friends on Tuesday from 11-1 pm prior to the service. Burial will be in Ferndale Cemetery, Johnstown.
