Obituary of Wayne D. May

Wayne D. May, 59, of Amsterdam, passed away Monday, April 4, 2011. He was born September 12, 1951 in Little Falls, the son of Howard and Catherine Haggerty May. Wayne was an avid outdoorsman and loved hunting, fishing and camping. He always put others ahead of himself and would go without to help somebody else; he was always willing to help in whatever way he could. Most of all, he enjoyed being with his family- especially his grandchildren. Wayne will be sadly missed. Survivors include his mother, Catherine May of Broadalbin; two daughters: Gabrielle Febbie Dean of Tribes Hill and Lisa; two sons: Jordan May fiancée Anne Dufel of St. Johnsville and Vincent May Melissa Hildreth of Hagaman; four grandchildren: Allyson, Jordan, Cassandra and Alexandra; three brothers: Jimmy May Crystal of Edinburgh, Craig May Maryanne of Northville and Jeff May JoAnn of Broadalbin and several aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins. Wayne was predeceased by his father, Howard in 2009. Family and friends are invited and may call Thursday, April 7 from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m. at the Scotch Bush Free Methodist Church in St. Johnsville where a funeral service will be held at 12 p.m. with the Reverend Dr. R.W. Williams presiding. Interment will take place at Fical Cemetery at a later date. Arrangements have been entrusted to Walrath & Stewart Funeral Home, 51 Fremont Street, Gloversville, NY 12078.
