I loved Michael very much, as you all did, but I have a unique perspective as the "big sister", 5 years older. Mike was always a great guy, but this was none more evident than when we were just children. He was always reliable, and would help people out in a pinch. He was a good example to his 3 boys and his 1 daughter. He is the kind of guy you always like to have around, even if he is your brother. We will miss you, Mike. We will see you soon, when we go to heaven too, where I am sure you are. I have no doubt.

Cathy and family,
My deepest and heartfelt condolences go out to you during this difficult time. I got to know Mike when I took over the Trenton store in the early 90's. I always enjoyed the talks we had over lunch when he'd come out to the store or during the long drives to numerous projects we worked together. Although it's been many years since I've spoken to him, I frequently recall the life lessons he instilled in me. May God watch over you in your time of sorrow.

I worked with Mike at the Goodwill store in Herkimer. He became a good friend and I enjoyed his silly humor as well as the spiritual discussions we would have. I could tell he loved his family because he wanted to be with them more than he wanted to be at the store. I remember the fun easter egg hunts at the store and how he was thrilled when kids would come in. Even though I didn't see him as much this last year, I will still miss him. I pray for comfort and peace for his family and friends.

I met Mike when he began as the Goodwill manager in Herkimer. His office was across from my desk at Career Connections. I will miss his humor and the little practical jokes he played on the girls in the office, like the time he took apart a fox stole and stratigically placed the little critters around the office to see if he could get a good response.
We will miss him.
