Gerry and Larry: I get the Courier by mail about a week and a half late and was so sad to see that your dad had passed away.
I remember him as a real good guy who was sort of hyper, talked a mile a minute, and was always good to us kids who roamed up and down Prospect Street and East Hill in that floating gang of 10-15 who were always out and about. I also remember that really neat white Corvair convertible............
My condolences to both of you and I have lots of fond memories of us being kids and your dad was surely a part of that.
Best regards,
John Canfield

Some of my earliest childhood memories of growing up with my Grandparents include our neighbor Mr. Raym.
I recall him helping me with sports, and he spent many hours tossing the wiffle ball, waiting for me to eventually hit it. Thanks to him, I joined Little League, which at that time was not common for girls to do. And I remember the swing set in his backyard - I put some miles on that!
I won't forget his almost daily visit at 4pm for cocktails with my Grandparents. I looked forward to this and would wait to see him walk by the window. This was especially so if Grandma was upset with me for something; maybe it was the cocktail, his jokes,or both, but by the end she would have a smile on her face, and might have forgotten what she was upset about! Grandpa enjoyed the male camaraderie; to talk politics, business, and sports. It was obvious how much they liked and respected him.
Mr Raym, they're sure to enjoy your company once again.
My condolences to the Raym family.
