Obituary of Walter Daniel Lynaugh
Walter Daniel Lynaugh, 72 , passed away peacefully in the company of his loving wife and children, at his home Monday morning following a long illness.
Born in Johnstown on July 10, 1938, the son of the late Irwin and Grace Willis Lynaugh, he was raised in the Town Of Glen and lived in this area his entire life. Danny was employed as a machinist for a number of years by the General Electric Company and later was the proprietor of the former Mohawk Valley Carpets. He retired in 1995 from Electro Metrics as a foreman. An avid outdoorsman, he loved hunting and to work with his hands as a craftsman and carpenter.
On August 15, 1970 he was united in marriage to the former Delores Reno. In addition to his wife, he leaves his children; Dorothy Burek and Daniel Lynaugh both of Glen, Patricia Conover and Edward Lynaugh both of Johnstown, Kristen Lynaugh of Amsterdam and Brian Serena Lynaugh of Las Vegas, Nv.; 10 grandchildren, 7 great grandchildren, brothers Robert Bellinger of Tennessee, Arthur and Stewart Bellinger both of Glen as well as nieces and nephews.
Daniel's family would like to express our deepest appreciation to the wonderful and supportive staff of Community Hospice and the visiting nurses as well as Dr. So who cared for him for many years.
Calling hours are Thursday from 4-7 pm at the Betz, Rossi & Bellinger Family Funeral Home, 171 Guy Park Avenue where a prayer service will take place at 7pm. Fr. Brian List will officiate. Interment is at the convenience of the family.
Contributions may be made in his name to Community Hospice Of Amsterdam or the American Lung Association in care of the funeral home office.
