My deepest condolences to the family of Don McVean. I worked with Don at the Amsterdam Housing Authority and he was the most gentlest, kindest man I have ever met. Don use to come in every morning to say hello and he would leave a nips peanut butter candy on my desk. He was the best. May he rest in everlasting peace.

Barb and Ken,
My heart and love go out to you while you enter this path of grief for your dad. I know you took care of him and made his life whole since your mom died.
I wanted to send you a message to let you know I'm thinking of you as you walk through this transition of life without parents. It's a challenge, and more will be revealed as time goes on.
Healing thoughts are being sent your way.

Don was always so very nice to me, even coming to my first home that I purchased to help me fix my carpets, refusing payment, in his true, kindhearted fashion. He knew my grandmother who passed when I was very young, so he would always tell me about her. Those stories, much like Don himself, were priceless gifts. He was a treasure to this world and I am blessed to have known him.
My love goes out to his family, my heart is with you.

Deepest sympathy. Don and Eileen were my patents best friends. Dad, too, worked at Mohawk Carpet Mills and they all went to church together. Eileen also worked for my family's lawyer and helped me take care of their estate. I have very fond memories of them both. Karen Kliest Dickerman

My memory of Uncle Don. He always came to Aunt Ruthie and Uncle Bob's house to visit me when I was in New York. I always loved that faithfulness to me and his remembrance of my mother Sadie. They came to AZ to visit a few rides when I was 9 or v 10 years old. Also we were the recipients of gold Carpeting from Mohawk Carpeting. It was magic how he prepared it to fit in the living room thousands of miles away. Uncle you will be missed, but you desire to be in God's Glory.

Mrs. Somers, Mr. Somers and members of the MacVean Family:
I am so sorry about the passing of Mr. MacVean. I loved our time together helping out at Wilkinson and the myriad community activities that Mr. & Mrs. MacVean undertook. I loved hearing his stories of the Amsterdam of the old, the work at the carpet mills, how the city has changed, his volunteer work with the band and his service in the army.
A friend of mine has a toast "How blessed are we to have known men such as these?" My life is richer and more blessed for having known such an amazing man.
yours,
Peter

Dear Barb,Ken and family and friends,
Please accept our sincere condolences on the passing of Big Don. He will be in our thoughts and prayers always. He sure was one sharply dressed man. I'm sure his wife welcomed him for celebration and reunion. Quiet memories.
