Obituary of Thomas B. Mullarkey, III

Thomas B. Mullarkey, III of Broomfield, CO passed away peacefully on Tuesday, December 12, 2023. He was 81 years old. 

Born in Amsterdam, NY on November 7, 1942 he was the only son of the late Thomas and Edna Kuiber Mullarkey II.  Tom grew up in Amsterdam, NY, graduated from St. Mary's Institute, and then went on to graduate from RPI.  After that, he earned a Master's degree from Penn State and was a chemical engineer for his entire career. 

For the majority of his adult life, Tom lived in Kinnelon, NJ where he raised his family in the beautiful lake community of Smoke Rise. Tom was an avid golfer, always looking for an excuse to get out on the greens. He also enjoyed summer's pastime as a diehard Yankees' fan. 

Tom is survived by his two daughters, Erin Lieber, and Catherine (Brett) Cortese; three grandchildren, Hannah C. Lieber, James E. Cortese and Page A. Cortese; cousins, Charles (Erika) Kuiber and friends. 

A Mass of Christian Burial will be offered on Thursday, December 21, 2023 at 10 o’clock at Historic St. Mary’s Roman Catholic Church, 156 East Main Street, Amsterdam, NY.  Burial will follow in the family plot at St. Mary’s Cemetery, Fort Johnson, NY.
